Technical support
Siloway's staff have over a decade of experience supporting users in both the UK and abroad.
From servers to workstations to VPNs, we can plan, implement and manage your enterprise network from infrastructure to bespoke application setup.On-site support
Our staff can work on site to manage everyday issues such as hardware replacement, peripheral installation and configuration, network and server administration. In addition we can provide:
- training on Windows systems and administration
- training on website administration
- enterprise software setup and configuration (eg accounting packages),
- emergency recovery in the event of a virus attack or operating system failure on a workstation, laptop or server. Our experience in this area means that in most cases we recover 100% of the data.
- Project consultancy in areas such as network expansion, upgrades, systems migration, equipment and compatibility advice.
Remote support
Remote administration has become very popular within the world of IT support for several reasons. The foremost is that it cuts the need for on-site support to a minimum, saving massively on travel time and thus global support solution costs.
So what is remote support ? Remote support is when a support technician is able, using a variety of techniques, to take control of a user's computer for the purpose of assisting him in a given task.
It is possible to use remote support in most cases with the exception of connectivity and hardware replacement issues (although a number of these can be resolved over the phone)
Example: a temp is hired for a few days to input data and needs to access the network and a shared printer. A support technician connects to the server, creates a secure profile and authorises access to the relevant peripherals. Total time -/+ 15 minutes. The operation can be done the day before the arrival so the temp wastes no time on arrival setting things up. The account can then be deleted in 5 minutes once the temp finishes his work. Total invoiced time: 20 Minutes. Siloway's tariffs work on a £1 per minute fee (minimum 5 minutes per call) so you would be paying £20 instead of a call out fee and a minimum of 1 hour with any other service provider (just the call out fee is usually in excess of £20) .
